Alameda based artist, Natalie Ann Peisl, developed a passion for art and writing at an early age.

Throughout her life, she utilized both as way to communicate her thoughts and emotions; purposefully intertwining the two, while allowing one application to inform the other.

Natalie Ann invites the viewer to share her experiences as she expresses her soul with the acrylic paint she uses. Her subject matters are varied for she paints “Life”, while using metaphors with in-depth meanings and multiple references. Also integrated in each of her pieces are various symbols, numbers and letters, intended solely for those close to her to decipher.

This artist chooses to paint on paper, instead of the more traditional canvas, which speaks to the surface’s simultaneous fragility and permanence. On occasion, one may see pencil and paint sharing the same page or the art extending itself onto the mat; a powerful reminder that life does not always remain within the lines defined by ourselves or others.

Natalie’s passion can be seen and felt in each conscious brushstroke, often provoking emotion in the viewer. Observing online or seeing her work in person, one leaves with a greater appreciation for the multitude of relatable moments in life that connect and inspire us all.
